Also, Tsukiko had been told that I had been cleared by both investigators, only to learn that the fire mafia one derp'd, investigated 0kami instead of me, leaving Tsukiko with false ideas when she told me who you were.

But it's so difficult to determine who is "right people". The only way to determine one's innocence is to compile both your perceptions and those of others who could also be lying.
