Maybe this is just my personal play style, but I tend to enjoy putting more information on the actual game thread. For instance, Jiro I would have claimed Thor on the main thread right on the first day - with your bullet-proof status as "proof" of your role. Not only is that a piece of information that only Thor would know, it would have also probably forced the Mafia to try and kill you during the night to prove you right or wrong.

Mafia, I was hoping one of the more experienced Mafia players would take advantage of how ambiguous the Town roles were. Whenever you notice a game in which Town roles are ambiguous it is the PERFECT time for you all to start claiming town roles and completely making up what that roles' special powers are. Not only will some suckers in the town believe you at your word (since they don't actually know what the roles' powers are), some really REALLY stupid players will actually confront you by PM telling you they don't believe you are that role because that role doesn't have those powers. BAM, that gets you who in the town you need to kill.

Quote number 1 is the reason that quote number 2 wouldn't have worked. To be completely honest, I was a bit suspicious of Jiro for the longest time, especially after we lynched Raynont. But by that point I had already trusted him enough to give him the protection power, so I decided to throw all my cards on the table and trust him completely. However, if he had just out and told me he was Thor from the beginning I would have voted on him in the town. There's no way a townie would be that conspicuous, right?

Marvi, I'm gonna be honest - you played it perfectly the entire way. You went for the permanent inventions straight from the beginning, knowing that voting is much more spotty at the start of the game than at the ending. And I agree with you completely that you guys were close to losing almost 2 times.

Again, so much blushing. You guys give me too much credit. Most of the time I was fumbling around confused.

And I'll definitely try and recruit more people for next time.

That way we can get to know you or find out who you are if we can't guess. I suppose this could also apply to the newbies from last round.

See Marvi that's where we differ in opinion. I don't believe in thinking someone is too suspicious or not suspicious for being more conspicuous. Perhaps that's because when I play I am very aggressive and open about things - whether I am Town or Mafia. For me, the question as to whether what I'm telling everyone is true or false is th questionable thing.

But this is where you have to think even more advanced - what is the most reasonable power for Thor to have considering the description I put up and (he's what really advanced players tend to do) what works best for game balancing?

Why did I put Thor in as a permanent bullet-proof character? Because the Mafia had Baron Zemo, a character who is capable of stealing objects, your inventions included. What is he had stolen your permanent gun? I needed to a way to take prevent the possibility of two town killings a night by the Mafia.

I had wondered about that. I assumed that Baron Zemo's powers were there to counteract my own. Or vice versa.

He ended up picking all Vanilla Townies except for his last one where he picked Tsukiko. Normally, if the person doesn't have anything on them, it acts as a night "investigation" or sorts. I would have thought the little description I gave him made it obvious she was Cap, but I guess not?

Interesting. He got some bad luck. I just hope that this next time around I can trust the same people. It'll be weird not knowing who's on your side again. (unless I'm mafia, of course)
